A Very Fine Pair of Italian 19th Century Rococo Style Giltwood Carved Throne Armchairs, Elaborately carved allover, the tall backs with overhanging scrolling and foliate crests above animal figures and the shield form padded back, surrounded by flowering vines and shell motifs, with matched decorations to the exaggerated rolling armrests ending with scrolls, and drop-in padded seat below, with a serpentine front rail centering a shell medallion, on foliate carved cabriole legs ending with scrolls, connected by a scrolling foliate carved "X" form stretcher. Circa: Florence, 1850
